Short-Term Rehab & Therapy
Our physical, occupational, and speech therapists help patients rebuild strength, develop functional mobility, and perform activities of daily living for a successful return home. Our therapies are offered 7 days a week for your convenience. Our in-house rehab gym is over 4,000 square feet in size. Whether you’re recovering from an illness, surgery, or major medical event, Mentor Hills Post Acute is committed to helping you rebuild strength, restore confidence, and regain independence at your own pace.

What is the goal of physical therapy?
Our physical therapy team works to help residents reach their highest level of independence.
How does physical therapy work at Mentor Hills?
Our physical therapy team works with patients on their mobility and physical strength so they can reach their highest level of independence. We carefully evaluate each patient’s physical status and care needs, and then we use that evaluation to create an individualized treatment program for them. These treatment programs will focus on:
- improving physical impairment
- coordination
- strength
- mobility
- pain
- preventing future injuries

Modalities We Offer
Our expansive rehab gym utilizes many advanced tools including ultrasound, OmniCycle Connect for motor skills, Nu-Step for strengthening, and more.
Occupational Therapy (OT)
What is the goal of occupational therapy?
At Mentor Hills Post Acute, we have designed our occupational therapy program to help residents master tasks essential to daily living so they can safely maximize their independence. These essential tasks include bathing, dressing, eating, cooking, and other similar day-to-day functions.
What types of skills will I improve?

Additionally, we assist our residents with impaired vision and/or hearing so they can thrive in their home environments. This involves teaching patients how to use adaptive equipment like shower chairs, walkers, utensils, wheelchairs, and more.

Speech Therapy
What is the goal of speech therapy?
Our speech therapists are focused on restoring patients’ abilities in the areas of communication, swallowing, and cognition. By employing a blend of different speech therapy approaches, our therapists help patients to:

Who may benefit from speech therapy?
Our speech therapy program can help patients affected by stroke, brain injury, dementia, and other neurological disorders. Our speech therapists also work with residents experiencing hearing impairment, respiratory illnesses, and other complex medical conditions.
